California Plaza is located near the prestigious Bunker Hill District in the heart of Downtown Los Angeles. The plaza consists of two unique sky-scrapers, One California Plaza and Two California Plaza. The plaza also consists of numerous retail amenities, and is in close proximity to many of Downtown LA’s feature hotels including The Omni Hotel, The Millenium Biltmore, The Wilshire Grand, The Marriott and The Standard. The Plaza also is home to The Museum of Contemporary Art, Colburn School of Performing Arts, and The Museum Tower Residential Apartments. A peaceful 1.5 acre water court contains a large “water stage” of Borington Green Slate. Additional water features including a spiral fountain, waterfalls, and a state of the art sound and lighting system entertain the public during concerts and performances in the summer and the fall. Tables and benches placed throughout the plaza make it a popular lunchtime retreat for tenants and visitors alike.
Completed in 1992, Two California Plaza stands 54 stories tall and offers over 1.3 million square feet of office space. The tower also presents more than 52,000 square feet of retail space for the convenience and enjoyment of tenants and visitors. Also designed by Arthur Erickson Architects it was named BOMA Building of the Year in 1997 and 2001 and is made of flame cut LAC Dubonet granite panels combined with green quartzite inlay panels. Polished, flame cut Brazilian San duba granite floors run throughout the interior. The artwork throughout is supplied by MOCA and is rotated on a continuous schedule so the interior look is constantly fresh with new looks.
